Dr. Carlos Coe, Founder and CEO:

Dr. Carlos Coe is Founder and CEO of Xtreme Power and brings more than 30 years of experience in engineering and technology management in the commercial electronics and power generation and storage industries. Prior to founding Xtreme Power, Dr. Coe was President and CEO of Anthony International, a $115M provider of merchandising systems for refrigeration. Previously he has held various leadership positions with Ford Aerospace & Whirlpool Corporation, including serving as Vice President of a $500M business unit and General Manager of a Chinese joint venture. While at Ford, Dr. Coe provided leadership to multiple operational challenges and new ventures. Dr. Coe holds five patents related to batteries and power storage and is a member of American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC), ASME, and IEEE. He received his PhD and MA in Engineering from Princeton University, and a BS in Engineering from The Citadel.
Darrell Hayslip, Chief Development Officer:

Darrell Hayslip brings more than 25 years of energy industry expertise to his role of Chief Development Officer at Xtreme Power. Prior to joining the company, Hayslip served as Senior Vice President in Energy Marketing and Trading at E.ON Climate & Renewables. He also spent eight years with the Calpine Corporation, eventually rising to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Hayslip's additional experience includes management roles with Dynergy, Destec Energy and Westinghouse Electric Company. He has served as a member of the Board for ERCOT, MEMA, Southwest Power Pool and GCPA. Hayslip holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin.
Aeron Hurst, Founder and CTO:

As a 40-year veteran in the semiconductor industry, Aeron Hurst offers a rich knowhow as Xtreme Power’s Chief Technology Officer. Over his career, Aeron has been a semi-conductor factory designer, a world leading electrical grounding specialist, a horse trainer, a race car driver, and an accomplished guitar player. He studied Electrical Engineering at Kansas State University.

Michael Breen
Michael Breen brings more than 20 years of financial expertise to his role as a director. With more than 10 years as an investor banker in public markets, M&A and venture capital sourcing. He was previously a partner at Edgewater Financial and also served as Senior Vice President at Southwest Securities. Additional experience includes time as an operational consultant in New York with Deloitte & Touche. Breen earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Hank Habicht of Sail Ventures
Hank Habicht has had a 25-year career in the environmental and energy fields that includes leadership positions in business and government.
Mr. Habicht is currently a Managing Partner of SAIL Venture Partners, a leading venture capital fund investing in leading-edge clean energy, water and related technologies. He has served as Deputy Administrator (Chief Operating Officer) of the US Environmental Protection Agency and Senior Vice President of Safety-Kleen Corporation. He serves on numerous corporate Boards and Advisory Commissions, including serving as a Commissioner on the National Commission on Energy Policy, and as a Member of the President's Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations. Mr. Habicht is also Vice Chairman of the Global Environment and Technology Foundation (GETF), where he formerly served as CEO. Mr. Habicht is on the Steering Committee of the Energy Future Coalition and the National Advisory Board for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and was a Founder of the American Council on Renewable Energy. He holds a Bachelors degree with High Honors from Princeton University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia.
Umesh Padval of Bessemer Venture Partners
Umesh Padval is a Partner based in Bessemer Venture Partners' Menlo Park Office. Focused on the IT and cleantech sectors, Mr. Padval brings to BVP more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and general management in the high tech industry.
Umesh has a management experience in a variety of markets including computing, mobile communications, and consumer digital entertainment. Before joining BVP in 2007, Mr. Padval worked at LSI Logic as Executive Vice President of the Consumer Products Group. Mr. Padval came to LSI Logic via its acquisition with C-Cube Microsystems, a public company, where Mr. Padval was President & CEO. Previously, Mr. Padval held management positions at VLSI Technology, serving as Executive Vice President of its Consumer and Computing Products group. He began his career at Advanced Micro Devices. Mr. Padval also has extensive global experience, having established R&D centers in both China and India, starting in the late 1990's.
Currently, Mr. Padval sits on the boards of Avnera, Avalanche Technologies, Cleeves Engine, Powergenix, Exclara, Entropic Communications, Integrated Device Technology, and Monolithic Power Systems, in addition to Xtreme Power. He is also active on advisory boards at Stanford University. Mr. Padval holds a bachelor's in Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and a master's degree from Stanford University.
Walter Schindler of SAIL Venture Partners
Walter Schindler is Managing Partner of SAIL Venture Partners, LLC, one of the pioneers and leaders of cleantech investing in the US. SAIL invests in growth companies with breakthrough clean technologies affecting large global markets, primarily energy, water and agriculture. Mr. Schindler served as interim Chairman and CEO of a SAIL portfolio company and led it from pre-revenue research and development into successful commercialization and revenue growth.
Prior to SAIL, Mr. Schindler was the Managing Partner of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's Orange County, California office, one of the largest in its worldwide network. In that role, he also served as the trusted strategic advisor to leading Southern California-based companies including Allergan, First American, Pacific Mutual Life Insurance, PIMCO, RemedyTemp, and SafeGuard. He was the lead strategic advisor in over 60 mergers, acquisitions, or IPO's. He was selected by his peers as one of the five best corporate lawyers in Orange County in an independent survey of members of the bar. Mr. Schindler has been a member of the board of trustees of several charitable foundations and organizations, including the American Cancer Society and St. Margaret's Episcopal School. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of US Bank.
Mr. Schindler earned his B.A. from Yale University, magna cum laude, and was awarded the Chauncey Brewster Tinker Prize and the Bates Traveling Fellowship. After college he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Italy and translate Italian poetry into English. He then earned his Ph.D. from Yale University, completing the program in a record two years and winning the prestigious Mary Cady Tew Prize (first in class). Mr. Schindler then earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, cum laude. He is also a published poet and the author of a book about the poetry of John Milton.
Pat Wood III of Wood3 Resources
Mr. Pat Wood III has served as a principal of Wood3 Resources, an energy infrastructure developer, since July 2005. From 2001 to 2005, he was the chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. From 1995 to 2001, Wood chaired the Public Utility Commission of Texas. He has also been an attorney with Baker & Botts, a global law firm, and an associate project engineer with Arco Indonesia, an oil and gas company in Jakarta.
Mr. Wood serves as a director of SunPower Corporation and of Quanta Services. Mr. Wood holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Texas A&M University and a J.D. degree from Harvard.
